Following the sell out courses last year, NFAN is again running workshops in 2017 focusing on health & safety, safe management of animal contact and the application of the Industry Code of Practice.

Main topics covered:
• Do you want to improve management of health and safety?
• Learn how to apply the principles of compliance in your business?
• Would you like to improve your visitor experience?
• Explore ways to manage animal contact using the Industry Code of Practice.

The workshop led by Ray Hipkin a Chartered Safety Practitioner are for business owners, managers and those responsible for Health and Safety management and will look at Facility Layouts, Play Equipment and managing Animal Contact Areas.

The workshop is practical and tailored to the needs of farm attractions – share experiences on how we identify hazards and their causes as well as some of the tell-tale signs that tell us when we need to take action.

During the course, practical sessions will take place around the host Farm Park. You will share experiences on how we identify hazards, look at good practice and discuss how it is maintained, including different approaches you can take to meet and exceed the Industry Code of Practice.

You’ll leave with a whole range of ideas, hints and tips which you can put into practice straight away back at work.

During this course, practical sessions will take place around Barleylands. There will be a presentation from the managers and site tour. FBarleylands, a farming experience and discovery centre with an educational bias which specialises in offering great, hands-on experiences for children from the age of 2 upwards.
