This workshop is aimed at owners, directors and senior managers with the ultimate responsibility for Health & Safety. You may be shocked to learn just how exposed you could be.
NFAN Workshops are aimed at Farm Park owners and key staff. Each workshop doubles as a mini open day with a presentation from the host venue and a behind the scenes tour. Numbers are limited to ensure a successful workshop with time to ask questions.
Tea & Coffee will be served from 9.30am, the first workshop session will start at 10.00am. The day is due to finish at 3.30pm. Lunch is provided.

What happens if there is a serious accident, fatality or life changing injury to a visitor, employee or contractor at your attraction. Former HSE Inspector Melvin Sandell will lead you through what the inspector will be looking for when they visit your premises.
Measures to limit or control liability – based on HSE Guidance booklet 65, Managing for Health and Safety. Plan Do Check Act. There will be a case study from the National Forest Adventure Farm – Improving H&S practice in the business. By Dr.Steve Cowley from Finch Consulting & Joe Abrams, NFAF
At the end of the day there will be opportunity to look around the Adventure Farm.
Meet the Workshop Leaders
Finch Consulting are a leading provider of expert witness, legal and consulting services in several sectors including leisure.
Melvin Sandell was an HSE Inspector for 16 years. His main areas of expertise are in the entertainment and leisure industry. He was HSE’s operational policy lead for fairgrounds and theme parks for 7 years. He provided expert advice and opinion to numerous HSE and local authority investigations. He was the lead author for numerous HSE guidance documents and managed the work of HSE’s National Fairground Inspection Team.
Dr Steve Cowley is a Chartered OHS expert (CMIOSH) and experienced OHS manager.
The Venue
The Education workshops also double as mini open days, giving delegates an opportunity to see around the host farm park. During the day there will be an opportunity to see around the Adventure Farm business and a tour.
First opened as a Maize Maze, it became a year- round farm park in 2011. There are outdoor play areas, large indoor soft play frame, animal barns and outdoor animal pens.
